So I used a tip from user hirokikato over at WordPress for iOS Forum to enable my blog for the iPhone. :) When we updated the WordPress software to 3.0 we were granted the wonderful ability to host multiple blogs on the same framework, which was awesome. However, this also meant our beloved iPhone app no longer worked since it did not work with multi-blog software. We knew this, though, since it didn’t work with WordPress MU, 3.0′s predecessor.
But now it works! But what’s interesting, haha, is that I probably won’t need to host my other blogs anymore. :) I started another WordPress blog to host my mathematical activities but now I’m messing around with bbPress, a WordPress inspired forum software. My main concern was getting a space that was LaTeX-enabled, so that’s why I went with WordPress. A wiki would have been nice but I’m not a CS major so I didn’t really know how to install everything on my files.
Now, however, I’m messing around with something called JSMath that should be a nice solution for rendering math. It’s not LaTeX, which I’m sad about, but it is TeX so that is nice. The fonts and images will all be hosted here at Sliding Down so my website is not dependent on another server. It’s also nice because it’s customizable which I couldn’t do when I installed WP LaTeX. Additionally, I should be able to use it on WordPress as well as bbPress and maybe even some other random websites.
In other news, I’m finishing up my research paper. Classes are going well. My grad school application is underway. Looking forward to starting lots of new projects and collaborations. :) Ooh, and I have instruments! I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited for a school year before.
